This event, Celestial Escape, is named after the original title of the 2018-2019 painting that shook Richard Warren Pease after taking in Heidi from homelessness. A deep violet and emerald green with rush of pinks, purples, mixed golds, and Swarovski crystals with two ladies in focus, this painting was offered at auction on behalf of charity fundraising at Shawnee Mission Unitarian Universalist Church, lovingly known as SMUUCH. The painting received several bids, and was won after Richard could not bare the feeling of losing the painting from his home.

In addition, on this day (April 8th) two rare celestial phenomenon’s will be taking place. Pons-Brooks, the two horned “Devil Comet” will be visible with binoculars and telescope in the night sky following the 2024 Solar Eclipse (80% visibility from the Kansas City area). This show will be celebrating these natural events and the journeys, and friendships, made along the way. Featuring select early works and popular favorites, in addition to new creative expressions unseen online or in person. Some of these being, “According to Angelonias”, the “Sitting With These Memories” diptych, “Celestial Escape - The Soulsearch”, and “Spirits In the Water”.

Hors d'oeuvres and light refreshments will be available.

Although not mandatory, RSVP if you would like us to know you’re coming.
